Boas can be very expensive.  Why pay top dollar when you can make your own.

This simple project will show you how to make a fur boa using the pre-manufactured fur strips.  These strips come in a variety of colors and can be found in your local craft stores or in the craft area of some discount department stores.  The fur strip can also be cut from a long piece of faux fur.  Long haired fur is recommended so you can easily conceal the seam.

A hot glue gun may be used for this project.  Please take all precautions when using a hot glue gun.  Make sure your gun is on low temperature as you will be using your fingers to press the fur together.

What you need:

Hot glue gun with glue sticks on low temp or fabric glue (quick drying)

Faux fur strips (long hair)

Sharp scissors (preferably the cuticle type)

Cut the length you desire from the faux fur strip(Slip the scissors just under the backing to keep from cutting the fur)

Fold down lengthwise one side of the strip.

With the hot glue gun or quick dry fabric glue, put a small amount of glue on the unfolded wrong side of the fur.

Roll the folded side over onto the glued side.

Apply more glue in the seam in 1" intervals.  Then press the fur together with your fingers to conceal the opening.

(
Caution - glue gun set at low temperature)

The open end of the boa.

Apply glue to the ends of the boa and press the fur together with your fingers.

Dress your lady in her new boa and she's ready for an exciting evening.
